A Poem on Demonisation - Standing India / Vijay Shanker Singh

As you said,
Delivered a sermon,
Just before an year,
Stand up for better future.

India stood.
Made a que.
Stood before the banks
Stood before the ATMs
Stood for their genuine money
Stood for the future
Stood for a hope,
Really and literally.

But for why,
But for whom,
But till when,
Waited completely confused.
With the bundles of,
Hard earned but dead notes,
In their pockets.
Waited days and night,

Waiting and hoping
for better days
Fought with the biting cold
Foggy future,
But just stood
Like a humble citizen,
As you said it Sir,
Stand up India !
Bravo India !

But, Alas,
All went in vein,
A dream shattered.

But on some day
India will stand
Will make a que
Slowly and calmly
But with full authority
With full of confidence
And with full of conviction
India will deliver her verdict

So gentlemen,
It is standing.
And waiting for the moment
When a leaf of history
Will be written for a better tomorrow !
Amen !!
